Psalm 148

Shout your Hallelujah!

Yahweh’s praise starts from the top,
From heaven and from the sky.

Praise him, you angels of his.
Praise him, you army of heaven.
Praise him, sun and moon.
Praise him, all you twinkling stars.
Praise him, outer space
And cloudy cisterns of the sky.

Join together in chorus,
Praising Yahweh.
At his word,
They were created.
He set each in its place,
Fixed their pathways for eons upon eons,
Irrevocable,
Unchangeable.

Praise continues from below,
From earth.

Praise him, you sea monsters and creatures of the swirling deep.
Praise him, fire and ice.
Praise him, snow and mist and ocean.
Each of you doing just what he asks of you.

Praise him, mountains and every hill.
Praise him, luscious fruit trees and stately pines.
Praise him, wild beasts and domesticated animals.
Praise him, beetles and bugs and birds on the wing.
Praise him, rulers of nations and every common person.
Praise him, law makers and judges.
Praise him, young men and women.
Praise him, elderly and infants.

Join together in chorus,
Praising Yahweh.
He’s the only one worth praising.
His glory exceeds everything and everyone
In the sky and on the land.

And yet,
He has shared his power with his people,
Making them praiseworthy.
Yes, even Israel,
Because they are near
And dear to him.

So, shout your Hallelujah!
