Psalm 129

(A song for pilgrims on the road up to Zion.)

They’ve kicked my butt
Since I was just a kid —
This is Israel speaking —
They’ve kicked my butt
Since I was just a kid.
They treated me like a field,
Plowing deep furrows down my back.

Yahweh is always right,
Always does what’s right.
He breaks the chains
Used by oppressors.

Zion haters,
Go away with your tail between your legs.
Go dry up and blow away.
Go disappear.
Till there’s nothing left to you.
Let no one bless you, saying
“May Yahweh bless you.
We bless you in Yahweh’s name.”
