Psalm 120

(A song for pilgrims on the road up to Zion.)

I’m so stressed out right now.
Yahweh, hear me.
Yahweh, answer me.

Yahweh, get me away
From these liars,
From these back-stabbing slanderers.

“What do you want from me?
And what do you deserve,
You back-stabbers?
A hail of bullets,
A blazing fire,
That’s what you’ll get.”

What a horrible existence,
Living in Meshech,
Stuck in Kedar.
My soul is drowning
Among people who hate peace.
I long for peace.
But if I says so,
They drown me out with calls for war.
