Psalm 111

Hallelujah!

All of me, I give to you, Yahweh.
No hesitation.
No reservation.
Saying, “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”
Boldly,
I’ll say it when I’m among the wise,
When I’m in a crowd.

Collect everything Yahweh has done —
It’s all awesome.
Doing a lifetime’s study of his works
Barely scratches the surface.
What a joy that would be!
Exquisite in beauty!
Regal in majesty!
Flawless.
Every detail so right, so true, so perfect.
Always.
God has erected a monument
To his amazing accomplishments:
His people,
They are his monument.
His greatest achievements
Are his grace,
His compassion.
He sustains those who live
In a God-ward direction.
His covenant is no cheap
Junk, flashy today,
Forgotten tomorrow.

Knowing with their eyes,
His people have seen the proof of his power:
Landing them into a nation
On par with the rest.
He gets his hands dirty daily,
Making truth and justice.
Notable in stability,
The words he’s spoken
Are secure enough to build a life on.
Oh what an unbreakable,
Infinite foundation.
His workmanship is honest,
Pure:
Quickening his people,
Reaffirming his covenant forever,
Signing his holy name,
With the whole weight of his reputation,
To back it up.

Understand this:
Orienting your life toward Yahweh is the
Very first step in a wise, well-lived life.
When you start there,
It is the
X-factor for a sensible life.
Yes, everything else fits into place.
And so our praise wells up to a never-ending
Zenith.
